About Foxwood Farm

Our Facility

Foxwood Farm’s new addition was completed in 2016. The main barn has 20 well  ventilated 12’ x 12’ stalls, opening to the 14’ rubber-brick floored aisle. The stalls  feature exterior dutch doors with French yoke openings, enabling horses to enjoy the  outdoors when weather permits. During the winter months the barn is heated by sub floor radiant heat maintained at 55 degrees.

The main barn has two grooming stalls, a heated wash stall with hot/cold water,  heated and air-conditioned feed and meds room, and short-term hay and bedding  storage. There are also four outdoor wash racks, for seasonal use.

The vet/farrier barn provides well-lighted, heated and well-organized work space  apart from the main barn, enabling farriers and veterinarians to work without  interference from normal barn activities. An equine treadmill in this barn is an  important part of the farm’s training and fitness program.

Our Facility (cont)...

Our heated indoor arena is connected to the main barn by an enclosed (and heated) walkway. And the indoor arena is sprinklered to minimize dust and control base uniformity. Two viewing areas provide a comfortable space to spectate from and are both heated separately for viewer comfort.  Two outdoor riding arenas, one measuring 150 ft. by 250 ft. and the other 120 ft. by  220 ft. were well designed and built, with excellent base and footing, and good drainage. Both are sprinklered for dust control and base maintenance. The surrounding grass fields are also an integral part of the training resources.

The lounge, or “commons room” is a welcoming gathering place, the tack room is well organized and efficient, and there’s an in-house laundry with heavy-duty commercial washer and drier, suitable for horse wear.

Five pastures and eight grass paddocks, each separated by 12-foot lanes (for horse safety) provide for regular turn-out and grazing.

Foxwood Farm was designed and built with the health, safety and welfare of the horse as the first consideration.
